In its place came the red and white design we have all seen around.

The history of the Pepsi logo is one of constant reimagination. The new bottle design began to feature a serrated bottle cap. The swirl separates the upper disk of the log from the lower one. This was the beginning of the company’s “Pepsi Generation” ad campaign. And that’s not even counting the smaller changes for flavor variations like Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max. Pepsi is a brilliant exception.

Over it’s 122 year history, the logo has seen 12 redesigns. The spherical shape of the logo has a swirl in the middle. The colors remained as red and blue, with an entirely white background. The current logo retains its uniqueness by combining its traditional colors, shapes and font style. The logo incorporated a circle with the word ‘Pepsi’ at its centre and red and blue flares above and below it. The Pepsi logo went through another major change in the 1960s. The design brief currently making the rounds of the Web, suggests that, if done right, the new Pepsi logo will likely lead to The Rapture that Evangelicals promise is coming. Today’s Pepsi Globe logo has a design that gives the impression of a smile.
