The event in the city planned to mark the 35th anniversary of the disaster at Valley Parade will not go ahead due to social distancing guidelines. The day should have gone down in the history books as one of celebration, following nine months of sweat, tears and toll which saw Bradford City promoted to the Third Division Championship. The main stand at Valley Parade was built in 1911 and had not been upgraded before the fire in 1985.
